Olivia A. Petritz, DVM, DACZM

Olivia Petritz obtained her veterinary degree at Purdue University, and following graduation, she completed several internships followed by a residency at the University of California, Davis in companion exotics and zoo medicine.  She became board certified in the American College of Zoological Medicine in 2013. She then founded an exotics service at a specialty hospital in Los Angeles and worked there for four years prior to joining the faculty at NC State in 2017.  Olivia is currently an Associate Professor of Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine at NCSU, and her research interests include avian therapeutics and imaging of exotic pet species.

The Evolved Vets (TEV), led by Drs. Anna Foster and Bethany Weinheimer, provides Life Coaching for veterinarians. Both emergency veterinarians and seasoned leaders, Anna and Bethany have lived through the highs and lows of vet med–rising into leadership, hitting rock bottom, and rebuilding careers and lives they love.

Their coaching uses a proven method grounded in neuroplasticity and values-based living to help veterinarians live their unique version of a successful life. Their thought leadership has been published in Today’s Veterinary Business

and other leading industry outlets, and their work is reaching an international audience of veterinarians seeking new tools for personal growth and career sustainability.

Anna and Bethany co-host The Evolved Vets Podcast, a fast-growing personal development podcast for veterinarians that blends real-life stories with actionable strategies. Their work creates a safe, inspiring space for veterinarians to develop the emotional intelligence, leadership, and self-worth skills that aren’t taught in school, but are essential for long-term sustainability in the field

Sarah Ozawa, DVM, DACSM

Sarah Ozawa received her DVM from the University of Wisconsin. Following graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Tennessee and then a residency in zoological companion animal medicine at the University of California-Davis. She became board certified by the American College of Zoological Medicine in 2020. She is currently an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University. Her research interests include small mammal medicine and cardiovascular disease in zoological companion animal species.
